OF. Los Angeles Angels. Mike Trout. 1. player. 102.
The Angels aren’t a good baseball team. Los Angeles is 49-62 at the time of this post, and with that, Trout’s MVP candidacy takes a hit from a narrative perspective. That, at least in my mind, is comically silly, though, as he has been easily the best player in baseball this season. Trout leads MLB (not just the AL) in fWAR (6.7) and bWAR (7.3) while serving as the best hitter in the league (169 wRC+) and it isn’t as if his traditional stats lag behind. A lot of people will vote against Trout based on his team’s record, but come on. He’s the best player alive.
