Live stream info and how to watch Olympics Grand Prix Dressage online on August 11.

Twenty-five nations, eleven teams, thirteen countries, and sixty riders are competing for dressage titles.

Dressage requires training a horse at a high level and showcasing its athleticism and beauty of its movement. Riders and horses must work together to display balance, rhythm, and subtleness in each movement, like dancing. Ideally, the cues the rider gives the horse to perform are invisible to a spectator’s eye.

The Dressage Grand Prix round continues Thursday morning at 9:00 am ET. The top eight individual rider-horse combinations plus all athletes from the top six teams will qualify for the Grand Prix Special held on Friday.

The team medals will be decided after the Grand Prix special on Aug. 12, which is also the second individual qualifier from which the top 18 (and those tied for 18th place) will go through to the freestyle final two days later. The freestyle to music is a stand-alone competition to decide the individual champion. Only three athletes from each nation are eligible compete in the freestyle.

The gold medal winner from the 2012 London Olympics, Charlotte Dujardin, is in Rio with her gold medal mount Valegro looking to reprise their victory. Truly a pair to watch.
