Missouri

Missouri has a very impressive Mount Rushmore.

Stan Musial is the best player ever to wear a Cardinals uniform. Musial, known as “Stan The Man,” finished his career with three MVP awards. He helped the Cardinals win three World Series, made it to 24 All-Star games and also won seven batting titles. He fell 25 home runs short of getting at least 3,000 hits and 500 home runs.

Albert Pujols of the Los Angeles Angels spent his best years with the St. Louis Cardinals. He won three MVP awards (all with the Cardinals) and helped the Cardinals win two World Series. Pujols is a 10-time All-Star. Expect him to get a statue in St. Louis relatively soon.

The story of Derrick Thomas is a tragic one. He averaged more than 10 sacks per season in his career before he died in a car accident. But for an 11 year period, Thomas was by a significant margin the best player on the Chiefs and arguably one of the most dominant defensive players in football.

George Brett played for the Kansas City Royals. He is famous for being the only player ever to win a batting title in three different decades. Brett finished his career with 3,154 hits and a .305 batting average. He is one of the seven players to achieve 20 triples, 20 homers and 20 doubles in the same season.
