27. Hue Jackson – Cleveland Browns

If there’s one person you have permission to feel bad for because of how low he falls in this ranking, Hue Jackson is that guy. Honestly, Jackson is actually a decent NFL head coach and a quality coordinator. Sadly, he’s made to look a lot worse because of the inevitable tempest of crap that the Cleveland Browns front offices will force him to endure.

Polite caveats aside, though, does anyone really want to risk putting the Browns’ football stink on the White House? Personally, that sounds like a recipe for disaster — akin to playing with matches around a gasoline-storage facility. Even if Jackson has redeeming qualities in a vacuum, the pall of the Browns organization changes everything for the worse, amplifying the bad decisions and questionable policy calls into straight-up DEFCOM 1 situations.

To be clear, if he weren’t at least somewhat competent as a football coach, Jackson might well be at the bottom of this list. The unwieldy, pathetic weight of the Browns organization is that crippling. So when a guy like Jackson gets to No. 27, it’s actually a testament to his character and constitution that he’s able to transcend — however slightly — that festering football sadness factory.
