The Montreal Canadiens took down their old “No Excuses” banner and Twitter offered the Habs some unique suggestions for a new slogan.

This offseason has seen a series of significant changes for the Montreal Canadiens. They traded star defenseman P.K. Subban to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber and signed Alexander Radulov. Montreal also traded Lars Eller to the Washington Capitals and traded for Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw. Another change will see is a new banner in their locker room. They have removed their “No Excuses” slogan from their locker room wall.

TSN 690 in Montreal asked Twitter what they should replace the slogan with. As the Cincinnati Zoo can tell you, it is never a good idea to ask the internet what it wants because that’s a great way to attract trolls. The replies to the tweet are fantastic and hilarious. Here are some of the best.

Of course, someone immediately mentioned Harambe. It wouldn’t be the internet if Harambe wasn’t involved, would it?

Other fans used the tweet as an opportunity to respectfully disagree with the departure of Subban.

Carey Price is Montreal’s best player by a fairly significant margin. He served as the inspiration for some solid slogans.

Some fans chose to troll the Canadiens about their obsession with players and coaches who speak French.

Canadiens fans also threw some shade at Therrien and general manager Marc Bergevin, who aren’t too popular in Montreal thanks to the Subban trade.

One person suggested a slogan that all of Canada can agree with.

Hopefully TSN 690 learned their lesson. You almost have to feel bad for whoever runs their Twitter account. But when you ask the internet a silly question, you’re going to get silly answers. With Price back, the Canadiens should contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
