31 sports stadiums most likely to be haunted

21. FirstEnergy Stadium
The Cleveland Browns needed a new stadium to replace the decrepit Cleveland (Municipal) Stadium if they were to rejoin the NFL after a three-year hiatus in the late 1990s. And so the FirstEnergy Stadium was born.
The Browns have struggled to bring championship-caliber football to Northeast Ohio since Jim Brown dominated the league in the 1960s. There were several great years in the 1980s, but other than that it has been one long nightmare for Cleveland football fans.
Now the city has tasted championship glory for the first time in 51 years thanks to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, maybe the Browns’ luck will finally change at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Or not. Cleveland has one of the weakest rosters in football entering the 2016 season, and they’ve gone through head coaches and general managers almost annually thanks to fickle owner Jimmy Haslam.
The city’s 50-year championship curse may now have been lifted, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some other malevolent spirit hanging around FirstEnergy. There aren’t many other explanations for how much of a disaster this Browns team is.
Neither Quicken Loans Arena nor Progressive Field give off the kind of ominous vibe FirstEnergy does. If there is still a sports poltergeist left in Cleveland, there is no question it resides at FirstEnergy Stadium.
