12. Jordan Westerkamp – Nebraska

The Nebraska Cornhuskers had a season that drove college football fans crazy. The team just couldn’t seem to do anything right and yet they backed their way into a bowl game. Then they won their bowl game and ended a season of struggles with a solid win.

One of the bright spots for a struggling offense was wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp. He was a possessions machine and he also got in the end zone at a decent clip. While versatility is his best asset as an occasional special teams player as well, Westerkamp is one of the better wide receivers in the Big Ten.

He’s the type of receiver that quarterbacks like to have when they need a reception in a key situation. He’s not the flashiest player on the field, but he’s reliable. That’s the hallmark of a senior and Westerkamp’s influence on offense should go a long way in getting Nebraska more wins this season.

Great wide receivers don’t need to load up on highlights each week. They just need to catch the ball and move the chains. There’s no secret recipe for success here and Westerkamp gets it just as well as anyone else.
