Note: I’m not referring to the live dogs featured in the photo above. Everyone knows it’s bad karma to trash-talk any dog. I’m talking about this:

WHATEVER THAT THING IS, IT IS NOT A DOG.

Remember when the Halo video games were popular? Are they still popular? Anyway, it was a known fact you shouldn’t play the games right before bed because otherwise you’d be sure to see those aliens you just finished lighting up take over your dreams. Well, better hope Southern Illinois doesn’t have any night games on its schedule, because the Saluki looks exactly like those creepy aliens from Halo.

Only thing that doesn’t bump the Saluki into the top 10 is its lack of bushy eyebrows, a must for truly terrifying animal mascots.
