9. George Washington University

WHY IS THERE NO COLOR VARIATION? WHY? WHY WOULD GEORGE WASHINGTON’S EYEBROWS, SKIN TONE AND HAIR ALL BE THE SAME COLOR? HECK, EVEN HIS OUTFIT IS PARTLY THE SAME COLOR.

Though, gwu.edu connects right with its target market when describing its mascot:

"George turns up at athletic events, waving his powerful golden hatchet."

George is definitely the only mascot described by the school’s website as likely to “turn up” at events, which is something. But do you really want to wake up in a cold sweat after seeing George running at you with a golden hatchet?

George Washington, the first president of the United States of America, was known for his complete honesty. So, if we’re going to be honest, this mascot’s almost completely blacked-out eyes shoot him up the nightmare fuel scale.
