1. Dak Prescott

Finally, the real reason Romo’s days in Dallas are numbered, the breakout star of this year’s preseason, Dak Prescott.

He wasn’t expected to play this year, but Prescott is and looks the part. While Romo is dealing with his third major back injury, Prescott is enjoying a wonderful preseason and connecting with his teammates like a starter. With a passer rating of 137.8 over his first three preseason games and five TDs and zero INTs, he is looking the part.

Last season, Romo averaged a passer rating of 79.4 with a TD to INT ratio of 5:7. Yes, I know it’s just preseason, but overall, Romo has regressed and Prescott looks like a future All-Pro.

This latest injury may be the final straw to break Romo’s figurative back. I doubt he will retire after this season, but the writing is on the wall and his career is definitely coming to an end. Sadly, I don’t think Tony will ever win a Super Bowl Championship but he did win over the fickle Cowboys’ fans.
