11. Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck has, perhaps unconsciously, been preparing for a zombie apocalypse his whole life. Despite a mammoth contract that made NFL history and undeniable success as one of the great young quarterbacks of this era, he’s managed to maintain the simpler worldview he developed in his anonymous pre-Colts lifetime. That consistency translates well to a zombie apocalypse. Exhibit A of this consistency? Luck’s phone.

Luck has used a flip phone for years. Even when he gets a new phone, as he did recently, he sticks with a flip phone. His reasoning shows the same big-picture wisdom that makes him such a successful signal-caller. “…I don’t think I want to be connected 24/7,” Luck said, “and this phone is maybe sort of a reminder that you don’t have to be connected. It’s nice to turn your phone off.” With that attitude, Luck will be positively giddy when electricity is but a memory and we’re using smoke signals to communicate long-distance. If he’s strong enough to live without luxury now, with all the world at his fingertips, it will be an easier transition for him than most when the undead overrun society. He can become a mentor, the man who teaches us all to get back to our proud ancestral roots. Plus, he probably has a huge house. That could be good in an apocalypse, too.
