33 NFL Players To Help You Survive The Zombie Apocalypse
30. IK Enemkpali
The crumbling of civilization means the old rules no longer apply. With the threat of law lifted, people no longer behave like they have to. They do what they want. In that kind of world, power is capital. IK Enemkpali has shown power in body and spirit. Last summer, as a New York Jet, the 250-pound outside linebacker punched his team’s quarterback, Geno Smith, breaking his jaw and knocking him down the depth chart safely below Ryan Fitzpatrick and the light of day, where he’s languished ever since. Allegedly, the punch was the result of a debt Smith owed Enemkpali and did not pay back. Enemkpali crossed a line in assaulting a co-worker, but in a different context — a zombie context — his action becomes not just justifiable, but admirable.
Smith’s teammates didn’t exactly leap to his defense after the incident, a damning sign for him and a good one for Enemkpali. Enemkpali saw someone taking advantage of him, he saw the world wasn’t making things right, he got involved. In the world we live in, this kind of behavior is considered a red flag. In the zombie apocalypse, Enemkpali’s the guy who leads a compound revolt and overthrows the bad guys. Not because he’s a good guy. Because he’s willing not to be.
