Loser 3: LSU Tigers (No. 5 to No. 21)

The LSU Tigers began the season in the top five, yet again, but fell to a Wisconsin team coming off a 10-win season and looking to make a statement against the SEC after being dominated in neutral site games against the conference over the past few years.

Wisconsin came out with a huge win, knocking off the fifth-best team in the nation, 16-14. All seemed right as LSU was holding Wisconsin’s offense mostly in check, but a Badger field goal with just under four minutes left sealed the game as the Tigers’ offense couldn’t get anything going.

Still, losing by two points on a neutral field against a team that won 10 games last season doesn’t seem like it should drop LSU from fifth in the polls all the way down to No. 21. It was sort of a crazy plummet, but the AP voters clearly weren’t impressed with the Tigers.

Brandon Harris struggled in the passing game and Fournette did all he could on the ground, rushing for 138 yards on 20 carries. LSU might be in danger of losing Les Miles yet again after it looked like he’d be fired last season.

If this team doesn’t get it together soon, it might be out of the rankings completely.
