All that said, here are some highlights from the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe, which debuted on Labor Day 2016:

The Face of a Hollywood Scandal: Lowe’s Sex Life

Heading into a night of torture, Lowe couldn’t escape a problem that was introduced over twenty years ago.

The topic of his sex tape was used as ammunition by nearly everyone but Peyton Manning. Without getting into specifics, many joked about his lack of self-control and over-indulgence, while his wife and kids were in attendance.

A magnet of hate and all-things-unnecessary, Coulter selfishly stole the spotlight.

Ann Coulter Steals the Spotlight from Rob Lowe

While Lowe was the star of the evening, the political headache that is Ann Coulter received some attention herself.

During her time at the mic, Coulter used the time to promote her eleventh book, In Trump We Trust, which was rightfully shamed by the audience. In fact, the audience was so displeased with Coulter, that they accompanied her podium appearance with silence. If they laughed, it was mostly at her and not with her.

And they weren’t alone.

A new member of Saturday Night Live, Pete Davidson expressed his rejection of the controversial Coulter with sarcastic laughs and sighs. When Coulter referred to Davidson in a joke about not being biracial, Davidson applauded her with disapproval.

A magnet of hate and all-things-unnecessary, Coulter selfishly stole the spotlight. And she’ll likely never be invited back to another roast.

Manning Pokes Fun at Jacksonville, Deflategate

One of the most humbled players to step onto the gridiron, Peyton Manning took advantage of his retirement to roast Rob Lowe.

A notable moment for the two-time Super Bowl winner included a jab at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As it goes for many roasters, the familiarity among one another is rather shallow and unknown. And so, Manning used that to his advantage.

Since he didn’t know many of the celebrities, Manning suggested that the cast of unknowns mimicked that of the Jaguars, a team unlikely to house big-time names.

The Rant Kid: Ralph Macchio Discusses his Lack of Work

Known for his roles in The Outsiders and The Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio consumed most of his mic time by discrediting his life as an actor. And he let Lowe know about it.

In a career that tallies forty-three credits (vs. Lowe’s ninety-three) as an actor, Macchio has spent little time reading scripts lately. For the most part, he’s taken part in strictly cameos (Ugly Better, Entourage), which he constantly nagged at during Lowe’s roast – a sign of jealousy.

This unattractive behavior of turning a roast into a therapy session might nail Macchio as one of the worst roasters of all-time.

The Sound of Music at the Roast

Most commonly, a stand-up routine would fare well at a Comedy Central Roast. This time around, though, music literally played a key role.

Former musician, Jewel, remembered Lowe’s early career with a twist on a classic ditty that reviewed her moments with Lowe as a co-star in The Lion’s Den.

On the other hand, Jeff Ross hopped into character and dressed as Prince. For his few minutes of fame, Ross referenced lyrics from Prince’s songs, including “When Dove’s Cry,” which was aimed at Ann Coulter.

Comedy Central has been through a pile of very poor roasts (Bob Saget, James Franco), but the roast of Rob Lowe could go down as the most controversial given the jokes that were traded back and forth.
