Busts

Going into Week 4, there aren’t that many “busts” in the forward position. You might want to drop Sergio Aguero due to his three match suspension, which begins this weekend against Manchester United, but he should pick where he left off once he returns.

Southampton’s early struggles have hurt their striker, Shane Long (£6.4), so it may time to look elsewhere if you have been relying on the Irishman for points. The Saints sold their main striker, Graziano Pelle, in the summer, and Long has had to step in and lead the attack.

Long has been a decent fantasy striker throughout his career, but he has been poor in FPL so far. Last season, the Irishman finished with 109 points, the second most in his career. So far this season, Long has five points and no goals.

Southampton haven’t exactly been creating a lot of chances for Long, but unless he can start creating for himself, it might be time to move on, even with his attractive price tag.

Bargains

Cristian Benteke doesn’t look like a bargain considering his £7.4 price tag, but after a sub-par year at Liverpool, he is now the star player at Crystal Palace.

The target man will be Palace’s main option going forward, even if they have Remy as well. The two should be able to work off each other and should start putting the ball in the back of the net with some regularity.

Benteke is a good fantasy striker. Last year, his worst season in England, he still managed to score nine goals and tally 104 fantasy points. Even if he gets you the same total this year, you should be happy with that. Pay close attention to his form at Palace. If he starts well, pick him up before his price starts to increase.

With Aguero suspended, City’s will likely turn to Kelechi Iheanacho. You might want to grab a top striker to offset the points Augero would have gotten, but Iheanacho looks to be City’s main target upfront and could put up a decent total with his low cost of £6.9.

Iheanacho burst onto the scene for City, scoring eight goals in his first season at the Etihad. Even though he only managed to play 766 minutes, he still got 80 points, which isn’t bad at all.
