3. Gus Malzahn – Auburn Tigers

If there’s a coach that’s seat is moderately warm, it has to be Gus Malzahn. Although the Auburn Tigers put up quite the fight against Clemson, Malzahn can’t afford to have another down year. If that’s the case, the Tigers are going to look for someone who can put them back at the top of the conference and able to compete with Alabama.

Ever since the Tigers lost to Jameis Winston and Florida State, it’s been a bit of a decline for them. That has led to some wondering if Malzahn is the guy to be the coach of the program for the future. While there’s nothing to be upset about with a loss to Clemson, this is the SEC and no losses are accepted.

The good news is Auburn has a chance to pick one up at home against Arkansas State this week. However, the Tigers proved last year that no game is a guarantee. He needs a win this week and a loss would almost assuredly be a huge mark against him with the program.

After this week, things start to get difficult as the Tigers then take on SEC opponents. That’s when they’ll sink or swim and Malzahn’s fate will start to become a lot more clear in college football.
