1. RB Lamar Miller, Houston Texans

Young and explosive. That’s one way to describe Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller. The newcomer to the AFC South spent his first four NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Now he has taken his talented to the Lone Star State, where he has the potential to put up some eye-popping numbers. The beauty of this addition by general manager Rick Smith is the fact that the Texans got an experienced runner who is only 25 years old and does not have much wear and tear on his resume.

Sure, the one-time University of Miami talent was a lot busier the past two seasons as he was his first two years in the league. But when you consider the fact that he has totaled only 755 touches in 61 regular-season contests, there’s plenty of football left in the young pro.

In four seasons, Miller has managed a respectable 3,817 yards from scrimmage and 22 touchdowns. But a closer look at those figures show that 2,643 yards and 19 of those scores have come in the past two seasons in 32 games.

Head coach Bill O’Brien and offensive coordinator George Godsey will keep the big-play performer busy against a Chicago Bears defense that added inside linebackers Jerrell Freeman and Danny Trevathan to an improving defensive unit this offseason. And although the yards may be tough to come by early in the game, look for Miller to eventually break a big run or two against Vic Fangio’s unit and find his way to the end zone. Add in more than a handful of throws from quarterback Brock Osweiler and the Texans’ star addition will wind up making all fantasy owners happy.
