1. DeMarco Murray

It wasn’t really that long ago that one-time Dallas Cowboys workhorse was leading the league in both rushing yards and total yards from scrimmage.

In 2014, running back DeMarco Murray was the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year and helped Jason Garrett’s club to a 12-4 record and an NFC East title. But all that changed the following year as the Cowboys let the standout performer test free agency and he was gobbled up by the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Alas, the Birds and then-head coach Chip Kelly couldn’t really find a consistent role for Murray, who led the team with 702 rushing yards on 193 carries. It was a far cry from his workload the previous season, when he amassed an impressive 392 attempts for 1,845 yards for the Cowboys.

Now the five-year pro suits up for his third team in as many years, dealt to the Tennessee Titans this offseason in a trade that also included a swap of fourth-round picks. Murray hopes to not only rejuvenate his own career but add some relief to a running attack that finished 25th in the league in 2015.

In case you’re wondering if Titans rookie running back Derrick Henry will be splitting time with Murray, head coach Mike Mularkey stated (via Jim Wyatt of Titans Online) that the veteran will be the lead back against the Vikings this Sunday and made that quite clear.

You can expect Murray to get a very heavy workload against a solid Minnesota defense but a unit that was a so-so 17th in the NFL last season against the run.
