20. Oregon Ducks

Not many people are talking about the Ducks, partly due to them playing late and there’s not a big star this season. It’s a group of players who’ve seen success but are good enough to be players in the Pac-12 North. A trip to Nebraska this week should make things interesting.

Last game: Win vs. Virginia 44-26

Next game: At Nebraska (9/17)

19. Florida Gators

The Gators looks like they’re in a groove after their thrashing of Kentucky on Saturday. Look, I know Kentucky is bad but maybe it’s time we start giving the Gators some credit. Quarterback Luke Del Rio combined with receiver Antonio Callaway is going to give teams in the SEC issues.

Last game: Win vs. Kentucky 45-7

Next game: vs. North Texas (9/17)

18. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame seems to have their quarterback. If they can keep DeShone Kizer healthy and remain healthy as a team, there’s no reason they can’t place themselves into the New Years Six discussion. They face their first home test against Michigan State on Saturday.

Last week: Win vs. Nevada 39-10

Next game: vs. Michigan State (9/17)

17. Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers avoided an embarrassing letdown loss to Akron on Saturday now they’ve got Georgia State coming in next week. That game might be the last winnable game on the Badgers schedule for a while. They face Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa and Nebraska all before the month of November.

Last game: Win vs. Akron 54-10

Next game: vs. Georgia State (9/17)

16. Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss shouldn’t be ranked this low but they missed out on a golden opportunity last Monday against Florida State. They bounced back to beat Wofford this past Saturday but now they’ve got a chance to beat number one Alabama this week. Can the Rebels make it three straight vs the Tide?

Last game: Win vs. Wofford 38-13

Next game: vs. Alabama (9/17)
