SEC Power Rankings, Week 2: Arkansas rises, Georgia survives

Impressive Wins
After narrowly escaping Week 1 with a 21-20 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, the Arkansas Razorbacks won a double overtime thriller against the No. 15 ranked TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth.
This win elevates Razorbacks stuff significantly, while it crushes the Big 12’s chances at a College Football Playoff spot. Quarterback Austin Allen charged into the end zone to lift the Hogs in this primetime showdown with a former Southwest Conference foe.
Bret Bielema’s team might be a dangerous team in the SEC West this season. There is a never say die mentality that his Razorbacks teams always seem to play with. If Arkansas can continue to play until the final whistle, it’ll have a say in who wins the SEC West without question. It might even be them.
Like their SEC West nemesis Arkansas, there is starting to be a lot of buzz about the Texas A&M Aggies in the early part of the 2016 college football season. The Aggies had a terrific Week 1 overtime win at home versus the then No. 16 UCLA Bruins.
Not to fall victim to a Week 2 letdown, the Aggies crushed Prairie View A&M 67-0 on Saturday afternoon. Texas A&M was the only ranked team in the Power 5 to shutout its opponent. Houston was the only other ranked team to pitch a shutout on Saturday.

The Aggies’ pass rush featuring defensive end Myles Garrett makes Texas A&M a serious threat in the SEC West this season. Quarterback Trevor Knight continues to impress under center. Head coach Kevin Sumlin might be off the hot seat with a Week 3 win over Auburn. The Aggies are rolling.
