Age is becoming a significant factor for the New York Jets offensive line. Nick Mangold is in his twilight years and even left tackle Ryan Clady, their replacement for D’Brickashaw Ferguson is pushing into his 30s. The credible depth up front is not there for this team. They could really use some new blood in the pipeline. Preferably on the edges where they appear the weakest at this point, if not in starters than certainly in reserves.

Notre Dame tackle Mike McClinchey can be a win-win option for them. Like most linemen under Brian Kelly, he’s coached well in technique and fundamentals. That means he could probably start right away if asked just like Zack Martin and Ronnie Stanley have. He’s a tough, sturdy blocker who is dependable in pass protection and gets after it in the ground game. With the rise of DeShone Kizer, his stock is almost certain to elevate in the coming months.
. OT. Notre Dame. Mike McGlinchey . 22. player. 30
