6. Jabrill Peppers – DB/LB – Michigan Wolverines
Jabrill Peppers is one of those special talents that was recognized early in high school. He received the Air Force National Sophomore of the Year award in 2011. Peppers also appeared on Sports Illustrated‘s “Future Game Changers” list in 2012. He won a state championship in all four years for two different high schools in New Jersey and was named by USA Today as the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year. In short, Jabrill was completely dominant.
Peppers appeared in three games as a true freshman in 2014, but his season was cut short by an injury. Therefore, he was redshirted for the rest of the season.
Jabrill didn’t disappoint in 2015 as he played in 12 games and received numerous honors, including Freshman All-American, All-American Second Team, and Big 10 Freshman of the Year. On defense, he registered 45 total tackles with 5.5 tackles for a loss and 10 pass deflections. He also contributed two rushing TDs and 568 all-purpose yards.
Peppers is playing outside linebacker for Michigan this season, but will still have a variety of roles in the offense and return game. His versatility has NFL scouts salivating at the prospects of choosing him as early as the 2018 NFL Draft. Barring any career-threatening injuries, Peppers should be a difference-making superstar as a pro. His chances for becoming the cover boy for a future Madden title are extremely high.
