28. Cleveland Browns

The Browns ranked 20th in the league in attendance last year with 66,186 fans per home game. That may seem kind of low. But for a team that has had 24 quarterbacks since 1999 and countless head coaches, it’s impressive.

Cleveland sports fans are among the best in sports. They are as loyal as any fanbase you can find. The Browns have not been competitive in a long, long time. Their last trip to the playoffs came during the 2002-2003 season, they have no Super Bowls to their name and have not won a championship since Jim Brown dominated the running game.

The Browns come into this season with new hope. They have some offensive weapons for once — guys like Josh Gordon, Gary Barnidge, rookie Corey Coleman and Terrelle Pryor. They will not win the division, they may even come in last place again, but expect the Browns to be competitive. That is why fans show up, hoping to witness a miracle.

Cleveland as a whole is famously snakebit when it comes to sports. LeBron James brought some good fortune this NBA season, but that was the city’s first championship in half a century. Browns fans have suffered for years watching players like Brady Quinn and Brandon Weeden start football games. If anyone deserves a good football team, it’s the fans of the Cleveland Browns. They’ll get one eventually. Maybe.
