5. LSU Tigers

There is not a Power 5 football program whose fans will travel to the end of the Earth to see their favorite team play more often than the LSU Tigers. LSU fans are something else. They can out-tailgate anybody after being conditioned to thrive best at night inside of Death Valley. LSU can play in Antarctica and Tiger Nation will show up in droves.

Tiger Stadium is arguably the best home-field advantage in college football. The humidity, the loudness, and the tough physical play make the Tigers early unbeatable at home. Winning at Death Valley in Baton Rouge as a visiting team is a feather in any team’s cap each season.

LSU’s football fans are exactly the type of following any Power 5 school would love to have. They are unwavering in their loyalty, they’ll travel to any venue to see the Tigers play, and they won’t leave the stadium until the final whistle, cheering loudly for the Tigers the entire time.

The only issue that holds the Tigers back from having the best fanbase in college football is that their following is a bit too colloquial. Outside of the Southeastern United States, you’re not going to find massive fans of LSU football. That’s not a bad thing, as the Louisiana Cajun culture is a proud fabric in what makes LSU football truly unique to this sport.
