College Football Rankings 2016: Week 4 AP Poll winners and losers
Winner: Texas A&M Aggies (No. 17 up to No. 10)
Going on the road and taking down Auburn is not an easy task. Despite the fact that the Tigers haven’t been nearly as successful over the past couple of seasons as they’re used to, Texas A&M’s victory in Auburn was still an impressive feat. Heck, just ask the Clemson Tigers how tough the Auburn Tigers can be — Clemson won just 19-13 against Auburn in Week 1.
Texas A&M is off to a great start to begin the season and Kevin Sumlin’s squad might be back to elite status this season. From unranked to No. 10 in just a few weeks, the Aggies look to be this year’s college football Cinderella.
Trevor Knight might not be the most accurate passer in the nation, but the Oklahoma-transfer has become a perfect addition to the offense, completing 20-of-40 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another 42 yards.
Freshman running back Trayveon Williams is a true breakout candidate for the Aggies as well, rushing just eight times for 127 yards and a crucial touchdown in a 29-16 victory. He is averaged over eight yards per touch on the season.
Christian Kirk had a relatively quiet game of just five catches for 22 yards, but when he gets it going, the Aggies are going to be extremely hard to beat in the SEC.
