4. Rick Spielman

Another reason Bradford can succeed as the Vikings starting quarterback in 2016 en route to Super Bowl LI is that he has an elite general manager in Rick Spielman. Spielman in the last two seasons has asserted himself as a top five general manager in the NFL.

He knew right away that Bridgewater’s backup Shaun Hill wasn’t going to cut it this season for a Vikings team with Super Bowl LI aspirations. Spielman has already shown that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to give his football team the best chance to win.

Few general managers would have had the guts to trade for Bradford like Spielman did with Philadelphia. So far, it’s panning out for him and the Vikings. Entering Week 3, Spielman still needs to figure out how to deal with the losses to Peterson and Kalil on offense from Week 2.

The Vikings can get by with Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon in the backfield even after Spielman finds a third-stringer for strictly depth after the Peterson injury. Spielman does have his work cut out for him to fix one of the worst offensive lines in the NFC.

Maybe the Vikings offensive line just needs a few weeks to grow together and improve. Either way, Spielman is going to do everything necessary to give Bradford the best chance to win in 2016. Bradford hasn’t had a general manager of Spielman’s caliber his entire NFL career.
