Marcus Morris-Small Forward

One new addition who definitely fit right in last year in Detroit was forward Marcus Morris. Just last offseason, the Morris twins were both stuck in Phoenix, but this season both have found new homes. Marcus Morris enters this season as one of the better Pistons fantasy basketball options.

Morris’s production is much like KCP’s in that it isn’t necessarily focused on one elite category, but it can help fill in some of the margins of your fantasy team since he contributes solid numbers across the board. Last year, Morris played over 35 minutes a game after a preview career-high f 25.3 minutes per contest. Not surprisingly, he posted career-highs in points (14.2), rebounds (5.1), and assists (2.5). He chipped in 1.4 three-pointer per game as well while acting as a solid spot-up option alongside Jackson and Drummond’s pick-and-roll.

I would take KCP over Morris since Morris doesn’t bring the same steals numbers of the SG, but at the end of your draft Morris is a fine roster-depth option. He does get enough minutes to deserve a look toward the end of your draft, but he could lose some playing time this year to the growing Stanley Johnson and the newly-signed Jon Leuer. My guess is that we’ll look back on last year as his best statistical season in his career after a slight regression this year due to a reduction in minutes.
