The Fantasy Football world was turned on it’s head in Week 2, with big-name busts and a myriad of injuries sending many owners scouring the waiver wire. You need hope. You need guidance. What you really need to do? Just remember Dorothy’s advice: There’s no place like home.

You can sense the frustration for fantasy football owners. The list of injured players from Week 2 is long and distinguished.  Adrian Peterson? Torn meniscus. Danny Woodhead? Torn ACL. Jonathan Stewart and Doug Martin? Hamstring injuries. The first question every owner needs answered? Where can I possibly find replacements?

The palpable angst also comes from the second consecutive week of underwhelming performances for big name fantasy players.  Allen Robinson, T.Y. Hilton, Eddie Lacy, Michael Floyd, and Sammy Watkins all continued their September swoon. The second question?  Who should I target on the waiver wire?

The answer to both questions lies in those home teams that are desperate for a win.

Week 3 always brings desperation, where teams like Buffalo and Jacksonville look to garner some semblance of momentum playing to home crowds. Since the beginning of the Super Bowl era, only five teams have started the season 0-3 and made the playoffs. Welcome to the crossroads of desperation and opportunity:  a potent elixir that can cure even the most depressed fantasy football owner.

This week’s 50 Shades of Fantasy Football takes a look at those players who will be featured on 0-2 teams — particularly at home. The value is hidden in these games, even though most haphazard fantasy owners will just dismiss the home team’s chances. Whether your player is injured or has failed to live up to expectations, take a good hard look at these 0-2 gems.

Who let the home dogs out?  You did, my friend.
