Winner: Wisconsin Badgers (No. 11 up to No. 8)

On the other hand, the Wisconsin Badgers looked great in a 30-6 road win over No. 8 Michigan State, compiling their second victory against a top-10 opponent on the year. Wisconsin marched into Spartan Stadium and out-played, out-hustled and out-coached Mark Dantonio and Michigan State.

Causing a number of turnovers, three interceptions and a fumble recovery for a touchdown, the Badgers looked like defensive juggernauts. Everything the Spartans made a mistake on, the Badgers capitalized.

Often times Wisconsin would get great field position because of turnovers and the play of the game had to be on the defensive side of the ball when Michigan State was driving. Sophomore running back LJ Scott fumbled the ball in Badger territory and it was picked up and returned for a touchdown to make it 20-6.

Wisconsin didn’t look back and proved to be the stronger team on Saturday. Alex Hornibrook looked solid in his first career start under center and the Badgers might just have their quarterback for the next four years.

The jump wasn’t huge, but it puts Wisconsin in a solid position in the polls with a big matchup against Michigan looming.
