“I will release my tax returns as soon as Clinton releases her emails”

One thing that Trump has been criticized over is not releasing his tax returns. He is one of the wealthiest men in the country, and even though he keeps criticizing the Clinton foundation, he has a foundation of his own. So not releasing his tax returns is practically undermining all of his comments about Clinton’s foundation, since it gives off the impression that he has something to hide.

Clinton started jabbing at Trump, saying that he might not be releasing it because he’s not as wealthy as we think, or that he isn’t actually paying them. But like he’s been doing all debate long, Trump avoided the question by attacking Hillary, and saying “I’ll release my tax returns as soon as Clinton releases her emails.”

Even though the crowd was supposed to be quiet, that actually incited a cheer from them. And in a microcosm of Lester Holt’s job as moderator, he told the crowd to quiet down well after the fact. Of course, Hillary has admitted that deleting the emails was wrong on multiple occasions, although that hasn’t stopped people from bringing it up.

In that similar vein, people aren’t going to let Trump’s tax returns get past him until he finally does release it. As someone who is running for President, he can’t keep hiding something that the public demands to see.
