“I did Black Americans a favor”

Hillary Clinton brought up Trump’s birther controversy, and the fact that he relentlessly pursued Obama to release his birth certificate. He only admitted a few weeks ago that Obama was in fact a US citizen, back-tracking on years of allegations.

It’s no secret that Trump is well behind in the minority vote, since he’s done himself absolutely no favors to win over their support. While they were unlikely to vote for him before this debate, this line regarding the birther issue will completely tilt the scales towards Hillary:

The whole birther issue was asinine to begin with, and nobody ever took it seriously besides Trump and right-wing media. And even after back-tracking and admitting that Obama was born in the United States, he went and said this in front of 100 million people.

To suggest that attacking the first ever Black president for over five years was doing that part of the population a favor is insane, and yet it’s not even the most racist thing he’s ever said.
