2. Auburn Tigers

This would be pure Schadenfreude if Miles ended coaching the other Tigers team in the SEC West. He found himself out of a job after losing to the Auburn Tigers on The Plains. While Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn lived to fight another day, he’s easily the worst head coach in the SEC West that now includes Ed Orgeron at LSU.

Malzahn and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee’s ‘hurry-up-and-run’ offense is becoming a cheap gimmick in the SEC West. It isn’t fooling anybody anymore. One could argue that the sole reason they haven’t been canned yet is that former LSU defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has been a God-send on the defensive side of the ball.

Miles knows the SEC West better than just about anybody. His recruiting base would not change. He would actually help a mediocre recruiting program like Auburn up its game in the SEC. Auburn wouldn’t be a little brother school to Alabama with Miles in charge.

He could win a national title before his 66th birthday if Miles gets his hands on this Auburn program. If Malzahn can take an island of misfit toys to the 2013 National Championship, Miles can have the best program in the SEC by 2019. Keeping Steele would be the best thing for Miles if he somehow lands down on The Plains in Auburn.
