10. I don’t believe you can lose an NFL game in more embarrassing fashion than the Houston Texans did. On Thursday Night Football in Bill O’Brien’s former stomping grounds against the New England Patriots and their third string rookie quarterback, the entire Texans team flopped.
While you can blame a short week with a lack of preparation or the cross-country flight up north, there is no reason a team like Houston should be shutout and run over.

“We came into Gillette Stadium and got smoked,” said former Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork after the game. “We’ve got to regroup. They played a hell of a game. We’ve got to put this one behind us and move forward quick. It was a real surprise.”

Free agent quarterback Brock Osweiler failed to live up to his large contract, throwing an interception and not finding a rhythm.

Houston failed to live up to their standards defensively, allowing Jacoby Brissett to throw and run all over them. The Texans allowed nearly 200 rushing yards to New England.

Turnovers on special teams are unacceptable. Two turnovers on special teams is absurd. Charles James and Tyler Ervin both fumbled during a return, limiting the Texans offense and straining the defense.

With a long week the Texans can prepare for the Tennessee Titans at home.
. 2-1.
