team. 30. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw six interceptions in the Jets’ 24-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The veteran quarterback threw for only 188 yards despite making 44 pass attempts. He also committed one of three fumbles the Jets offense had Sunday against Kansas City.
Two of Fitzpatricks turnovers were returned for touchdowns, including a pick six by Derrick Johnson. Second year cornerback Marcus Peters had two picks of his own.

The running backs were equally ineffective for the New York Jets. Matt Forte carried the ball 15 times and had 63 yards. Bilal Powell had a team-high six carries and 41 yards, but rushed for only 30 yards on four attempts as a running back.

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall was listed as questionable leading up to the game, but he did in-fact play and get limited targets. Marshall finished with three catches for 27 yards, despite being targeted 10 times.

On defense the Jets had four players combine to complete two sacks. Leonard Williams, Sheldon Richardson, Darron Lee, and Lorenzo Mauldin each had half a sack on Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith.

Lawrence Thomas left with a shoulder injury, and Darrelle Revis needed attention on his eye in the first half before returning to the playing field. Erin Henderson did not play due to a foot sprain.

The schedule does not get easier for the New York Jets, who welcome the Seattle Seahawks to town next week. After that, road trips to Pittsburgh and Arizona are on the docket. While they “went up” a spot in the ranking, that is more reflective of teams falling than the Jets rising
. 1-2. Previous: 17th.
