56. The Cincinnati Bengals lost at home to the Denver Broncos, mostly because they couldn’t stop beating themselves. Cincinnati is a talented team with Andy Dalton and A.J. Green leading the charge, but a 1-2 record suggest there are some problems.

Andy Dalton was 21-of-31 with a costly interception and just over 200 passing yards. The connection with rookie Tyler Boyd is yet to be found, despite Boyd showing an immense amount of promise coming out of Pittsburgh in the second round this year. With no Marvin Jones or Mohamed Sanu, Cincinnati has to get creative on offense. They did get Jeremy Hill more carries last week, which ultimately paid off. Hill had two touchdowns and 97 yards in the loss.

The Bengals have to find a way to stop taking penalties and turning the ball over, something that has plagued them against good teams for years. A lot of this falls squarely on the shoulders of Marvin Lewis. Lewis could have been fired after the debacle we saw in the AFC Wild Card game last January, when the entire team sustained a meltdown of biblical proportions.

With a -19 point differential after three games, Cincinnati doesn’t have much time to get its act together. The Steelers got roughed up by the Eagles but remain 2-1 and have already beaten the Bengals. Cincinnati now has to face Miami, Dallas, and New England with the hopes of escaping with one win. A major collapse could finally spell the end for Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati.
. 1-2. Previous: 9th. Cincinnati Bengals. 15. team
