team. 31. The New York Giants and rookie head coach Ben McAdoo lost their first game of the season to their division rival Washington Redskins at home.
Eli Manning was plagued by two interceptions, which shadowed his 350 passing yards. Manning connected with Odell Beckham Jr. seven times for 121 yards. Beckham dropped an easy touchdown when being covered by Josh Norman, who lined up against him the majority of the game once again.

The wide receivers in New York might be one of the best in the league this year. Behind Beckham Jr. sit a fully healthy Victor Cruz, who had three catches for 70 yards, but no tango dances in the endzone. Rookie Sterling Shepard out of Oklahoma was one of my favorite wide receivers in the NFL Draft last spring and had the Giants lone receiving touchdown with five catches and 73 yards.

Both Shane Vereen and Orleans Darkwa had productive days running out of the backfield, scoring a touchdown apiece and combining for 120 yards on 21 carries.

Damon “snacks” Harrison continues to impress on the defensive line, leading the way with 10 tackles. Jason Pierre-Paul had a sack despite still wearing a club on his bad hand. Olivier Vernon also had a sack, and has been a major upgrade on the defensive line since joining the Giants from Miami through free agency.

Turnovers are what ultimately killed the Giants Sunday against Washington, and they will need to improve on holding onto the ball as they head into a Monday night game in Minnesota.
. 2-1.
