1-2. Previous: 25th. Tennessee Titans. 28. team. 35. The Tennessee Titans franchise is still trying to dig themselves out of a hole, and Sundays loss just threw dirt back into that hole.
Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw two interceptions in the Titans second loss of the season. Against the blitz, Mariota completed just one pass for a yard in seven attempts. He isn’t taking many sacks, averaging just two per game thus far.

Mariota failed to finish a long drive in the final minute of the game Sunday, turning the ball over on downs with just 16 seconds left in the red zone.

Tennessee did everything they could to help their franchise quarterback over the offseason. They added two running backs, made massive upgrades on the offensive line, and brought in help at wide receiver. We’ve only seen glimpses of the Oregon Heisman trophy winner in the NFL, and he has to get better.

Perhaps Mariota was not ready to take the next step considering the type of offense he ran in college. Maybe the pressure is quietly getting to him. Or maybe he’s just not good enough to play in the NFL. It is far too early to make a final decision on whether or not Marcus Mariota will succeed as an NFL quarterback (with or without Chip Kelly) but fans have to be questioning him at this point.

Tennessee will travel to face a Houston Texans team looking for revenge after an embarrassing loss to the Patriots last week. The defense must prepare to take on Brock Osweiler and the speedy wide receivers, while on offense J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney are the persons of interest.
