On paper, plenty of people look at the blowout win over Marshall and think it was no big deal. Those people would be dead wrong. On the positive side, the Cardinals were able to pull out to a 52-7 lead behind another monster game from Lamar Jackson and friends and coast to a 59-28 victory over the Thundering Herd.

The problem with that would be the final score. Marshall – albeit against the Cardinals’ second and third team defense – was able to drop 21 points on them in the final frame. That is something that should be bothersome to head coach Bobby Petrino, especially with one giant game coming up in less than a week.

Right now, Louisville is the flavor of the week and getting plenty of respect heading into their primetime game against Clemson. If they take their foot off the gas against a team like the Tigers the way they did last weekend, things could turn out bad for the Cardinals just at the moment the can’t afford it.

If that does happen and Clemson wins, we could have mass chaos should the Tigers lose later in the month against Florida State and all three teams win the rest of those games. Let’s go chaos!
