8. Jacoby Brissett

Long before he was winning Thursday Night Football games as the third-string quarterback of the New England Patriots, Jacoby Brissett was an underclassmen signal caller for the Gators. He was recruited by former offensive coordinator Charlie Weis out of Palm Beach Gardens.

After backing up John Brantley in 2011 and not beating out Jeff Driskel in 2012, Brissett opted to transfer to the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Brissett had a stellar final two years of college ball for the Wolfpack in the ACC. He threw for 5,268 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Brissett was also strong in the running game with 899 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in Raleigh.

Florida would love to have had a re-do with the Brissett decision. He flourished with North Carolina State. The Gators offense stunk with Brantley and Driskel under center. Brissett only played in 13 games for the Gators, throwing for 455 yards, three touchdowns, and four picks.

He had the ringing endorse of fellow Floridian resident Bill Parcells. Brissett has the mental makeup and the skill set to play quarterback in the NFL for the next decade. What was Florida thinking in letting him transfer after the 2012 NCAA season?
