16. Cleveland Browns

Charles Harris . 16. player. 53. No team has more flexibility going into the 2017 draft than the Cleveland Browns thanks to their owning multiple picks in almost every round. So they can feel free to move up without much cause for concern if they wished. That’s what they decided to do here, utilizing the extra 1st rounder they got from Philadelphia to swing a deal with Oakland. Having acquired their franchise quarterback, the time has come to check off another key position.
One thing the Browns are largely devoid of is pass rushers. The combination of Barkevious Mingo and Paul Kruger was a colossal failure. Now they’re trying to invigorate the rush from scratch. Carl Nassib should be a nice rotational guy but they still don’t have that explosive edge presence. Somebody who can suddenly go off for 2-3 sacks in a game without warning. To date this franchise hasn’t found anybody like that.

Charles Harris continues to fly under the radar because he plays at Missouri, but that program is known for producing quality rushers. He is the latest and one of their most exciting. At 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds he fits the mold. The athleticism and first step explosion are there. Harris knows how to bend the edge and then finish strong to reach the quarterback. Opponents find it difficult to block him because of his ability to rush in different ways.
. DE. Missouri
