25. Green Bay Packers

49. Even amidst their ongoing problems the Green Bay Packers remain one of the better teams in the NFC. They have a decent defense, solid weapons and of course Aaron Rodgers. Provided one of those key areas don’t take a sudden severe downturn, this team should be right back in the playoffs come January. Of course it may end up being as a wild card this season given how the Vikings have played lately. In the end it doesn’t matter how one gets in.
The nagging concern with the Packers at present is the state of Rodgers. He has looked out of sorts and inconsistent for certain stretches dating back to last season. He insists things will get figured out but every time he’s faced a team with even a moderately good defense, he’s struggled. Part of the problem has been a steadily deteriorating pass protection. Guard Josh Sitton was their biggest loss yet. One knows it’s bad when a Lions defense missing Ezekiel Ansah still sacked Rodgers twice.

This could force GM Ted Thompson into making a corresponding move to solve the problem. Early indications are the 2017 draft class could have some solid interior blocking options. At the head is Ohio State guard Pat Elflein. He’s capable of playing guard or center, moves well getting to the second level, delivers his blocks with power in the ground game and is steady and dependable in pass protection. Green Bay could start him immediately without fear.
. OG. Ohio State. Pat Elflein . 25. player
