26. Seattle Seahawks

Notre Dame. Mike McGlinchey . 26. player. 36. The Seattle Seahawks remain one of the best teams in the NFL and will be in the playoffs. They have the best defense in the league and a plethora of playmakers on offense. It’s just a matter of figuring out how far they can go once they reach January. History says they will be a tough out for any team they face. At the same time they do have one fatal flaw that threatens to cripple their entire effort.
That would be their offensive line. Pass protection was always an issue but now it’s become a crisis after Russell Wilson sustained yet another troubling injury as result of constant pressure. First it was an ankle and then a knee. How much longer before the Pro Bowl quarterback takes a hit that knocks him out for the season? There is a feeling of dread that such a moment is approaching unless that protection gets better.

The beauty of somebody like Mike McGlinchey is he can play almost any position on the offensive line. He’s got the size and athleticism for tackle but his technique and power base would also fit just fine at guard. It will come down to where the Seahawks feel they need him most. Starting right away shouldn’t be an issue since the last two first-round picks from Notre Dame did just that.
. OT
