20. Columbia, MO

Columbia, MO and its school, the University of Missouri, have had a rough year. They received a lot of poor publicity over the past year and even a decrease in freshman enrollment. The school and its issues aside, Columbia is a great place for college students.

It has the downtown that every college town needs, complete with cheap food and fun bars, and is actually a fairly progressive-thinking campus. Just like another city to make the rankings, Austin, TX, Columbia has a vibrant music scene that ranges from impromptu street performers to organized local bands and artists.
