4. Texas is NOT back

After Week 1, it looked like the Texas Longhorns were back. They had everyone fooled, including this writer. Their win over a team like Notre Dame looked like the catalyst to spark the program and get them rolling.

Instead, they have dropped their last two games and the Longhorns look like the same team from the past few seasons. Charlie Strong has taken his own hot seat that was room temperature and has thrown gasoline all over it. He’s now firmly planted himself in all future hot seat watches.

This program has talent that can compete, but it’s clear they are missing something. They just did not look prepared to play football and the execution was not their either. That comes down to coaching and it doesn’t bode well for Strong.

Boosters aren’t gong to put up with this for much longer. If the Longhorns drop their game against hated rival Oklahoma next week, it might be high time that the program gets a move on with things. Strong shouldn’t feel safe in his position right now.
