26. Don’t expect their narrow loss to Oakland to discourage the Baltimore Ravens too much. This is a veteran team with plenty of leadership to know that things won’t always go as planned. The idea is to keep grinding and make sure to win the next week. It was a bit unnerving though to see the defense allow four touchdown passes. That proves the secondary might not be in tiptop shape. Eric Weddle was an excellent addition at safety but he’s an older option with a limited window left. Getting somebody next to him on the back end could really help to solidify their deep coverage. Especially if that somebody is Jamal Adams.
The LSU standout is one of the more complete safeties in the 2017 class. He’s best known for his work down in the box. A sure tackler who can provide some pop as a hitter and excels at sniffing out screens. Shows plenty of instinct. What many don’t realize is he’s a good athlete too. He’s got enough range to make a play in coverage and his 6-foot-1 frame allows him to match up better with bigger receivers and tight ends. Ozzie Newsome loves the SEC when it comes to finding quality defenders. C.J. Mosley is of course the latest example. There is little chance he’d pass up a talent like Adams, big need or not.
. S.
