2. Tom Herman

Just about every big program in need of a head coach is going to be hot after Tom Herman. Now that the Houston Cougars have lost a game and their playoff chances are over, Herman is probably going to jump at a big offer. Notre Dame is going to have some heavy competition.

Unlike other coaches that have done well with a smaller program and have bolted immediately, Herman has done it more than once with Houston. He’s proven and the risk for Notre Dame wouldn’t be as big as say taking a chance on a P.J. Fleck.

His ability to have his players ready to execute is flawless. Even better, he has already proved himself against greater competition. His Cougars have knocked off the likes of Florida State, Oklahoma and others.

Going up against large programs in big moments isn’t going to be an issue with Herman. He relishes coaching in the big time and brings the mentality Notre Dame needs. It just might be tough for them to outbid a Texas in this situation.
