team. 42. Is it finally fair to say Chip Kelly is a fraud and should not be an NFL head coach? They said any quarterback can look good in his “offense,” but Blaine Gabbert has proven that theory wrong with two interceptions and taking seven sacks. Reports are that Kelly could finally turn to Colin Kaepernick, who has been recovering from multiple shoulder surgeries. Many thought Kaepernick was the perfect NFL quarterback to run Kelly’s system and he may finally get his chance in Buffalo. Gabbert was not the only issue on Thursday, as the offense as a whole turned the ball over three times. It was good to see Carlos Hyde have a productive evening, but it was not enough to overcome Chip Kelly.
Next week: Traveling to Buffalo could be a disaster for San Francisco. The Rex Ryan-led Bills looked to be going-into a nosedive when they fired Greg Roman early in the season, but they have appeared to have somewhat rebounded. LeSean McCoy has had at least 90 yards of offense in his last five games, and will be looking to stick it to his former coach Chip Kelly after what transpired in Philadelphia last season.

Playoff hopes: The playoffs were an afterthought in San Francisco during training camp. With no quarterback, a patchwork offense, and a worn-out defense riddled with injuries you can not expect to see the 49ers playing late into January. Instead they’ll be competing in the DeShone Kizer sweepstakes, hoping to at-least get a consolation prize such as Deshaun Watson or J.T. Barrett.
. 1-4. Previous: . San Francisco 49ers. 31
