Oakland’s defense continued to struggle and allowed 423 total yards to the visiting San Diego Chargers. And opposing running backs and tight ends continue to confound the Silver and Black as three of Philip Rivers’ four touchdown passes went to Antonio Gates, Hunter Henry and Melvin Gordon. But a win is a win and four takeaways from Jack Del Rio’s club helped rescue the club – along with a mishandled snap on a late San Diego field goal try that could have tied the score. Derek Carr overcame three sacks and interception and threw for 317 yards and two scores. <p>Next Week: The Raiders are home once again and get another AFC West rival in the form of the 2-2 Kansas City Chiefs. Andy Reid’s club, who didn’t play in Week 5, have won the last three meetings in this series and swept the Silver and Black a year ago.</p> <p>Playoff hopes: Off to their best start since 2002 (the last time the franchise posted a winning season and reached the playoffs), a loss by the Denver Broncos enabled the Raiders to move into a first-place tie in the AFC West.
