Best college football quarterback born in every state

Indiana: Bob Griese – Purdue Boilermakers
Unlike Illinois, Indiana has no shortage of great college quarterbacks. Jay Cutler, Jeff George, Rex Grossman and Rick Mirer are some good examples of Indiana-born signal callers that achieved collegiate success. However, probably none of them means more to the “Hoosier State” than Purdue’s Bob Griese.
Griese was a three-sport star for the Boilermakers and played three positions on the football team. Along with his quarterback duties, he served as a kicker and punter. There were many contests where Bob scored every single point for Purdue. He currently ranks ninth in scoring, fifth in scoring among non-kickers and fourth among kickers in school history.
Bob was a two-time All-American for Purdue and finished eighth in the 1965 Heisman Trophy race. He also finished as the runner-up to Steve Spurrier in the 1966 Heisman voting. Griese’s college career earned him induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1984.
Griese continued to be successful in the NFL and is a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee. Of all the great college passers that were born in Indiana, none have been better than Bob Griese.
