Missouri: Josh Freeman – Kansas State Wildcats

Missouri is the birthplace of some great college players such as Kellen Winslow Sr., Justin Smith, Jeremy Maclin and Ezekiel Elliott. It’s also where quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Josh Freeman were born. Although Gabbert put up some impressive numbers for the Missouri Tigers, his college career wasn’t quite as impressive as Freeman’s.

Freeman was born in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Grandview High School, where he was a four-star prospect according to Rivals.com and Scout.com. He chose to attend Kansas State after decommitting from his original choice of Nebraska. In his three years lining up under center for the Wildcats, Freeman amassed 680 pass completions for 8,078 yards and 44 touchdowns. He also accumulated a school-record 8,427 total yards and became the second quarterback in Kansas State history to score at least 60 total touchdowns.

Freeman went on to the NFL, where he experienced early success for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But his career took a downward spiral in 2013 and he was released. Regardless of his current status as a free agent, Freeman should still be recognized as the best college passer born in the Show-Me State.
